Promises...
I have a tendency to make promises that I will update this (and my journal) more often...but then I don't. Oops. I was recently inspired to do a little more blogging. For some reason it seems safer than facebook, and I can post longer "status updates." :) And we all know I like to talk.
Anyway, Justin and I have been suuuuper busy. I've been working kind of a crazy schedule due to making trades, so that has been interesting. Justin is getting his sling off (from shoulder surgery) on WEDNESDAY!! YAY!! We have gotten the routine of changing his shirt down to approximately 2 minutes. booyah. His arm is still very tight, and he can't let it hang straight down his side, because his bicep became so tight from it being at a 90 degree angle. So, hopefully the physical therapy will work quickly, and he can be closer to "normal." I never realized how much mobility would be taken away. Unfortunately, he lost most of the muscle tone in his left bicep and tricep, so that will be a longer recovery, and more difficult since he won't be able to lift large amounts of weight for quite some time.
I have finally begun to see why people love being NICU nurses. I admitted a patient back in December, and have been able to see her grow over the last month. What an amazing thing to experience! I love her family, and got to meet her "big sis" last week. It almost makes me want to have kids. Almost. It is amazing to see how tiny they are compared to full term babies, but it's a blessing to see them change as if they would in the womb. Fun!
Justin and I have made a few changes lately...with the puppy, and changing churches. We are now at Troy United Methodist....crazy, I know. We both grew up Baptist. Ha! But denominations aside, we really felt God leading us here, and we have already grown so close to the youth that we have been helping with, and I sang on the praise team for the first time last weekend, since leaving Metro. The people are such a blessing, and they have been so welcoming. We truly have great friends. And I don't know what I would do without Andrea Franzen, because she encourages me everyday to not be a "debbie downer." Thanks, friend!
So anyway, I will be done for now.
Oh yeah, I forgot.....
We're going to the Colts game sunday. BOOYAH!
